Bubble is proud to announce that it has been added to the list of accredited suppliers at the British Museum.
Long celebrated as one of London’s key cultural highlights, the British Museum tells the stories of cultures across the world, from the dawn of human history, over two million years ago, to the present, and is conveniently situated in London’s buzzing West End.
Event planners can support the Museum, as the revenue generated from events helps support the running of the Museum.
“We’re delighted to welcome Bubble onto the list of accredited caterers” said Jenny Nicholls, the British Museum’s Head of Events, “I’m sure their creative approach and polished service will be a great fit for events at the Museum.”
The Great Court
One of the most iconic spaces in the British Museum, the famous two-acre square Great Court is the largest covered public square in Europe, housed under a spectacular glass and steel roof.
Designed by Foster and Partners, the £100 million project was opened in 2000 by Her Majesty the Queen. The Great Court contains a number of sculptures to introduce the cultures represented in the galleries beyond.
The Enlightenment Gallery
The oldest gallery in the Museum, The Enlightenment Gallery was completed in 1827 to house the royal library of King George III. The Gallery boasts classical architectural features with plaster pilasters, a beautiful oak and mahogany listed floor, yellow and gold ornamentation and a gilded balcony. It is the perfect setting for fine dining, and elegant drinks receptions.
The Egyptian Sculpture Gallery
The Egyptian Sculpture Gallery is a truly memorable setting for events, featuring the finest collection of Egyptian monumental sculpture outside Egypt. An imposing stone bust of the great pharaoh Ramesses II presides over the room, while the world famous Rosetta Stone takes centre stage.
The Nereid Gallery
The Nereid Gallery features a reconstruction of the famous monument from Xanthos. The upper walls of the monument are surmounted with a pediment frieze showing banqueting scenes, making this spacious gallery a particularly appropriate venue for spring and summer dinners with a classical al fresco feel.
The Joseph E Hotung Gallery
The Joseph E Hotung Gallery houses the largest collection of South and Southeast Asian antiquities in Europe. With gold leaf embellished walls, this luxurious gallery is ideal for large receptions and small, intimate dinners alike.
The Wellcome Trust Gallery of Living and Dying
The Wellcome Trust Gallery of Living and Dying features objects from New Zealand, Ghana, the Solomon Islands, South America and the North American Arctic, providing a large contemporary space for drinks receptions and dinners.
The Clore Education Centre
The Clore Education Centre, which can be hired separately, offers two impressive state-of-the-art auditoriums seating 323 and 142 respectively. These contemporary spaces, designed by Lord Foster in dramatic red, white stone and grey, are perfect for film screenings, product launches, press briefings, conferences, seminars and live broadcasting.
Complementing the theatre spaces are two elegant curved foyers which echo the Museum’s stunning Great Court and world famous reading room above. The foyers have a spacious feel and provide blank canvas spaces for receptions, lunches and dinners, exhibitions and other interactive elements.
Guests may enjoy access to the British Museum galleries, including special collections, during opening hours and the venue can provide a variety of branded and corporate gifts as keepsakes, providing event organisers with the opportunity to create a unique experience.
