Whether you’re putting together an almighty banquet, a vast conference, a lavish wedding or an epic party, London offers some stunning ‘ample-sized’ venues. The City of London’s Guildhall can accommodate up to 900 guests in its dazzling variety of spaces, with its Great Hall (pictured) being the largest and most opulent.
Further east, up to 1000 guests at the V&A Museum of Childhood may enjoy the surrounding galleries and exhibitions, whilst Village Underground’s generous renovated warehouse boasts Victorian features and vaulted brick arches.
Event organisers are spoilt for choice with The O2’s two large event spaces – enjoying live music expertise at sumptuous Indigo at The O2 and dramatic backdrops and state-of-the-art sounds and AV at stylish Building Six.
Moving north, sprawling Alexandra Palace offers The Great Hall with an impressive 6426m2 of pillar free space and natural daylight, in addition to a plethora of other indoor and outdoor spaces. Vibrant King’s Cross is home to Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design with its massive atrium, The Street, and London’s largest roof terrace for up to 600 guests.
Heading westward, Royal Hospital Chelsea is set in 33 acres of grounds with a spectacular courtyard and its elegant Great Hall. Whilst fashionista friendly 3 Olaf Street offers a clean, contemporary space with natural light. London’s much-loved Science Museum has just added another large space to its already plentiful portfolio – the blank canvas Wellcome Wing Basement.
Coming back to the centre, Middle Temple’s authentic medieval hall has won numerous awards and its sizeable garden overlooks the Thames. The interactive Museum of London can accommodate up to 1000 guests amongst its thought-provoking exhibits. And we wait with baited breath to see the refurbishments unveiled at Art Deco treasure, the magnificent Bloomsbury Ballroom. Watch this space!
