Bubble has gained a strong reputation for striding forward with innovative menus and creative concepts. This has come about thanks to our approach – we are always researching new trends and developing new elements for cutting-edge events. Mexican culture has been one of the key inspirations this year from fashion, film and interiors, through to food and drink.
We embraced this hot trend with the creation of a stylish, yet bold, food station. Featuring a range of Mexican inspired street food delights, the food is set against a backdrop which incorporates a modern interpretation of the country’s striking colour aesthetic.
Design
“I started looking for inspiration for a new food station in the Spring and it just seemed so fitting for it to have a Mexican feel.” commented food stylist, Tina Nisson, “The weather was warming up in the UK, as was the trend for neon colours against a backdrop of concrete and smooth greys.
In keeping with the celebration of all things Mexican, cacti have taken over from succulents as must-have natural decor.
Strong industrial elements combined with blocks of dramatic colour keep the design looking current, giving the station a chic Aztec look. The geometric and urban shapes are dressed up with the bright fabric pom pom touches, which reflect the look for 2017.”
Food
The content of the menus takes inspiration from traditional Mexican cuisine, whilst echoing the vivid look and feel of the station.
“The station comprises contemporary urban Mexican food with bright, punchy ‘in your face’ flavours and acid-bright colours.” remarked our Executive Head Chef, Jens Nisson, “Empanadas, taquitos, ceviches and salsas, with ingredients borrowed from across the globe.
Watermelon gets the ceviche treatment marinated in chilli with spicy lime. Salmon and avocado in a mini taco is seasoned with teriyaki sauce and taquitos feature pulled duck, foie gras and sunshine salsa.”
