The annual Tiffany & Co. Royal Charity Polo Cup was held on Sunday 16 July at the private grounds of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Berkshire Estate, Watership Down.

VIP guests enjoyed a luxurious day of polo, lunch and drinks in support for the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund and MapAction, with Royal Patronage, HRH Prince Harry in attendance. Special guests of the event included Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber, actress Laura Haddock, Lady Violet Manners, Marissa Montgomery, Paul Sculfor, Fenton and Sascha Bailey, Eliza Fairbanks, Caroline Issa and Tom Farrelly.
As guests arrived to enjoy welcome drinks and the first chukkas of polo between the Polofix and Hascombe teams, Bubble served seasonal canapés including Carta musica, ricotta salata, black garlic, tomato, basil, Nori rice crackers, grilled beef, truffle pearls, béarnaise sauce and Pea, mint and ricotta filo tart, pea shoots, arbequina oil powder.
Three course lunch began with elegant starter of Chargrilled courgette flower, caprini, golden beetroot, pine nut, followed by delicate main dish, Butter poached cod, jersey royals, peas, asparagus, wild mushrooms, green garlic broth (or vegetarian option of Cannelloni of garden pea, potato and marjoram, asparagus, heritage carrots, morel and pistachio dressing). Quintessentially British dessert followed of English strawberry tart, vanilla cream, meringue kisses, strawberry crisps, the lunch concluding with coffee and chocolates.
After the lively fundraising auctions, the afternoon’s activities continued with a polo match between the Innerplace and Hurlingham 1875 teams in competition for The Tiffany & Co. Royal Charity Polo Cup.
Prince Harry teamed up with Hilario Ulloa, Evgeny Chichvarkin and Royston Prisk, playing for the Innerplace team, as they competed against Hurlingham 1875 in an exhilarating 4 chukka match. Hurlingham 1875’s team consisted of Arabella Morris, Facundo Sola and Martin Podesta, along with Caballus patron Bruce Merivale-Austin.
Prince Harry has played in a series of charitable polo matches this summer to raise funds and awareness for the charities he supports. After an entertaining match, Innerplace took the win 6 – 4.5 to lift the Tiffany & Co. Royal Charity Polo Cup.
