This Victorian mansion with its enchanting garden is one of the city’s best kept secrets. Stepping through the gates, guests are transported to another world of gothic fantasy and quirky charm. A firm favourite with celebrities looking for a private space to unwind, the House of Magic is perfect for corporate events, theatrical dinners, private celebrations, bar and bat mitzvahs, press launches, unique wedding receptions and Christmas parties.
Packed with intriguing vintage curiosities and fascinating miniature installations, the House of Magic can offer a range of unique entertainment and add-ons. In keeping with the theme of the venue, clients may opt to include award-winning close up magicians, including Channel 4’s infamous Secret Cabaret star, Simon Drake himself. Additionally, guests are invited to take a tour of the faux-macabre Haunted Cellar and have their fortune told on the Whispering Chair.
Available for daytime and evening hire, the House of Magic can accommodate 150 guests for canapés, buffets or food on the move, or up to 80 for a sit-down dinner. Clients may opt to use the grand Drawing Room space with its charming fireplace, and the surprisingly spacious and opulent garden. The venue boasts excellent lighting and sound capabilities, perfect for creating atmospheric special effects and options for DJs and dancing.
