In today’s world, hosting eco-friendly events is not just a trend but a responsibility. Adopting sustainable practices in event planning can significantly reduce environmental impact while enhancing attendee experience. At Bubble Food, sustainability is at the heart of our operations.
Responsible Sourcing
Choosing suppliers who prioritise sustainability is crucial. At Bubble Food, we source seasonal and ethically procured ingredients, ensuring that our menus are not only vibrant and unique but also environmentally responsible.
Waste Reduction
Implementing strategies to minimise waste is essential for eco-friendly events. Bubble Food is committed to reducing food waste through thoughtful preparation and repurposing products and supplies post-event. This approach not only lessens environmental impact but also contributes to a more sustainable future.
Energy Efficiency
Utilising energy-efficient appliances and renewable energy sources can significantly reduce an event’s carbon footprint. Bubble Food focuses on energy efficiency in our operations, ensuring that each event reflects a perfect balance of elegance, sustainability, and creativity.
Sustainable Packaging
Opting for eco-friendly packaging materials, such as compostable or reusable options, can greatly reduce single-use plastic consumption. Bubble Food actively encourages clients to choose sustainable packaging solutions, aligning with our commitment to environmental responsibility.
Water Conservation
Implementing water-saving measures, such as using water-efficient appliances and serving filtered water with creative garnishes, can contribute to a more sustainable event. Bubble Food promotes water conservation by encouraging the use of reusable glass bottles at all events (as shown above).
Supporting Local Communities
Engaging with local communities and supporting local businesses can enhance the sustainability of an event. We are proud to support Lewisham College Catering Department, located in one of London’s most deprived boroughs (ranked 7th according to the English Indices of Deprivation 2019).
Our initiatives include cooking demonstrations to inspire students, running stalls and demos at their careers fairs, and providing supervised work experience at our events for Year 2 students—two groups will join us in January. Our Executive Chef actively contributes to the college’s Employer Advisory Board, ensuring the curriculum equips students with real-world skills.
These efforts yield tangible results, with students gaining valuable experience and continuing to work with Bubble Food in paid roles over several years. Looking ahead, we’re excited to offer additional work experience weeks to further support and empower the next generation of culinary talent.
Education and Awareness
Raising awareness about sustainable practices among staff and attendees can lead to more environmentally friendly events. Bubble Food invests in education and awareness, ensuring that our team is knowledgeable about sustainability and can implement best practices in every event.
Transparent Reporting
Maintaining transparency in sustainability efforts builds trust and encourages continuous improvement.
By integrating these sustainable practices, event planners can create eco-friendly events that are both memorable and environmentally responsible. At Bubble Food, we are dedicated to delivering extraordinary events that captivate the senses while upholding our commitment to the planet. At Bubble Food, transparency is at the heart of our sustainability journey. We are dedicated to openly sharing our sustainability initiatives across our website, social media channels, marketing materials, and client communications, including quotes. This ensures that all stakeholders—clients, employees, and casual staff—are informed and engaged in our commitment to sustainability.
