It is becoming increasingly obvious that, as a planet, our approach to environmental responsibility needs to step up a significant level.
As an event catering company, we have come to this conclusion not just from an altruistic point of view, but also from self-preservation.
How can we create incredible dishes if all the food sources are damaged by environmental irresponsibility?
From stopping plastic pollution and wasteful practices, through to working with others who are trying to make a difference, there are many things we can collectively do…
Single use plastic
Straws are now a hot topic, for good reason, but we need to be thinking bigger if we are going to make a real impact. We decided that banning all single use plastic is the best way forward for us.
When events require disposables, we are now using compostable alternatives sourced from companies such as award-winning Vegware – which offer a wide range of packaging items made entirely from plants.
Water bottles
Plastic water bottles are a huge global problem. Back in 2016, we switched to serving tap water at events, or where the client preferred bottled water, we now serve Belu (bottled in glass by a social enterprise which donates all profits to Water Aid).

They also have a handy shop with many items to help individuals and companies to break the cycle of reliance on plastic.
4 Ocean
This inventive organisation, 4 Ocean, pulls a pound of trash from the ocean for each bracelet (made with recycled glass and plastic retrieved from the seas) purchased. An ideal gift!
