With Somerset House offering 20% off hire until the end of March, we asked the events team to tell us more about what makes the venue such a unique place for incredible events.
Somerset House is a heritage venue that is perfect for events all year round, with its thirteen highly versatile venue spaces. The River Terrace offers glorious views across the South Bank and makes for spectacular summer al fresco events, ranging from summer parties to outdoor receptions. When the weather takes a turn for the worse, events can still thrive with Somerset House’s array of indoor spaces including the historic Navy Board Rooms, originally home to the Navy Board, and the Portico Rooms, with spectacular balcony views over both The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court and the River Thames.
As the home of Somerset House Studios, a new experimental workspace in the centre of London connecting artists with audiences, Somerset House is a hub of contemporary culture with a constant stream of events and exhibitions taking place. Throughout April, Somerset House will host a month-long cultural celebration dedicated to games and play, kicking off with the return of popular gaming weekend, Now Play This. The celebration will include events and exhibitions that explore themes within this culturally and economically important industry, showcasing the latest game design and technology as well as revisiting classic favourites.
