The Venue

Long celebrated as one of London’s key cultural highlights, the British Museum tells the stories of cultures across the world, from the dawn of human history to the present.  Moreover, the Museum's convenient location is London's electric West End, makes this venue an incredible events space. The famous two-acre square Great Court is the largest covered public square in Europe.  The space is housed under a spectacular glass and steel roof. Completed in 1827, the Enlightenment Gallery's classical architectural features provide the perfect setting for fine dining and elegant receptions. The Egyptian Sculpture Gallery features an imposing stone bust of Ramesses II and, the world famous, Rosetta Stone.

The Nereid Gallery offers a classical al fresco backdrop with its reconstruction of the famous monument from Xanthos and, furthermore, a pediment frieze showing banqueting scenes. The luxurious Joseph E Hotung Gallery houses the largest collection of South and Southeast Asian antiquities in Europe. The Wellcome Trust Gallery of Living and Dying features objects from New Zealand, Ghana, the Solomon Islands, South America and the North American Arctic.  Not only that, but the Gallery provides a large contemporary space for drinks receptions and dinners. The Clore Education Centre, which can be hired separately, offers two impressive state-of-the-art auditoriums seating 323 and 142 respectively. These contemporary spaces, designed by Lord Foster in dramatic red, white stone and grey, are complemented by curved foyers which echo the Museum’s stunning Great Court and the world-famous reading room above.
